An Air India flight, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner scheduled to depart from Delhi to Paris at 1:15 PM IST, was cancelled after the pre-flight checks found an issue with the plane. The airline said the concern was being addressed and the flight was cancelled, and alternate arrangements were made for passengers.
"Flight AI143 from Delhi to Paris of 17 June has been cancelled. The mandatory pre-flight checks identified an issue which is being presently addressed. However, in view of the flight coming under the restrictions on night operations at Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airport, the said flight has been cancelled," Air India spokesperson said.
"We regret the inconvenience caused to our passengers and are making alternative arrangements to fly them to their destination at the earliest," the airline added.
It further stated that the passengers were provided with hotel accommodation and full refunds for cancellations or complimentary rescheduling if they opted for it. "Consequently, flight AI142 from Paris to Delhi on June 18, 2025 also stands cancelled," it added.
This comes hours after Air India on Tuesday cancelled yet another flight, AI 159, scheduled to depart from Ahmedabad to London at 1:10 PM IST. The cancellation was prompted by the detection of a technical fault in the aircraft just hours before takeoff. The flight was set to carry over 200 passengers.
The cancellations and security checks come a week after Air India flight 171, scheduled to travel from Ahmedabad to London crashed shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. The crash killed 241 people on board, and several others on the ground as it plunged into a medical college complex. The incident has prompted a probe by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) and the central government.
