This financial boost follows Musk's public apology to President Donald Trump, which he shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Musk, in a post on X, wrote, "I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far."

Musk's decision to apologise came after a series of critical remarks he made regarding Trump and a Trump-backed piece of legislation he labelled as "The Big Ugly Bill." This public statement marks a potential reconciliation between the two influential figures, suggesting a shift in their previously strained relationship.

Prior to this public gesture, Musk reportedly reached out to Trump via a phone call, which took place on a Monday before the apology. The response from the market was swift and positive, reflecting an improved perception of Musk's financial standing following the reconciliation.

Trump expressed his appreciation for Musk's apology, stating, "I thought it was very nice that he did that."
