The wife of Minnesota shooter Vance Luther Boelter, Jenny Boelter, has reportedly been detained and is currently being questioned by authorities. During a traffic stop near Onamia, Minnesota, on the morning of Saturday, June 14, police found a weapon, ammunition, cash and multiple passports in her vehicle. According to local outlet KTSP, several of her relatives were also present in the car at the time.
According to the report, two police cruisers remained at the scene for approximately two to three hours. Although Jenny was detained for questioning, she was not placed under arrest.
It remains unclear whether Jenny and Vance Boelter were living together, as Vance is believed to reside at a home in Camden, Minnesota. That residence was raided by SWAT teams on Saturday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Vance Boelter remains at large and is being sought in connection with multiple shootings. Authorities say he is responsible for the early Saturday attack on Senator John Hoffman and his wife at their Champlin home, leaving both seriously injured. According to police sources cited by the New York Post, Boelter then travelled to the home of former Democratic House Speaker Melissa Hortman, where he allegedly killed her and her husband.
Meanwhile, earlier on Saturday, Vance Luther Boelter told his roommate that he could be dead soon, a report said. 59-year-old David Carlson told Reuters that he has been sharing a house in Minneapolis with accused Vance Luther Boelter (57) for a little more than a year. He saw Boelter on Friday night, and the next morning at 6, he received a text from Boelter.
"He said that he might be dead soon," said Carlson, who called police, reported Reuters.
Carlson has known Boelter since fourth grade, said the shooter shared the house with him because his workplace was close from here. "His family has got to suffer through this," Carlson said, adding that he feels betrayed, Reuters added in its report.
