Bengaluru Rains: Bengaluru was battered by heavy rain on Wednesday, throwing large parts of the city into chaos. Widespread waterlogging, slow-moving traffic and flooded intersections turned the evening commute into a nightmare for thousands of residents.
The downpour, which began around late afternoon, quickly overwhelmed several stormwater drains, particularly in central, eastern and northern parts of the city. The Bengaluru Traffic Police and local traffic stations issued multiple advisories urging commuters to exercise caution and avoid severely affected stretches.

Whitefield, KR Puram Among Worst-Hit
Rain-affected areas around the Whitefield Traffic Police Station limits saw particularly heavy disruption. Traffic officers were deployed on the ground to assist commuters and manage vehicle flow.
Police Urge Caution, Offer Assistance
The Bengaluru Traffic Police have advised all motorists to avoid unnecessary travel in flooded zones and to dial 112 for any emergencies or assistance.
“Rain is affecting road conditions and slowing down traffic in and around Whitefield. We are on the ground assisting commuters and managing the flow,” the department posted on social media.
Residents are being urged to stay updated with traffic advisories and weather alerts as more showers are expected through the week.
